SMS Terms
*We're only texting you because you asked us to — to help protect your account or keep your dispute moving. Here's exactly how it works.*
1. Consent — What You're Agreeing To
By providing your mobile number and affirmatively opting in, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated and non-automated text messages from BeatBullies (Educated Guess Ventures, LLC) at the number you provided, for the purposes described in Section 2.
Two things to be clear about:
- Consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. You can use BeatBullies without SMS.
- BeatBullies does not send promotional or marketing text messages. Every text we send is operational — tied to your account's security or your dispute's progress.
2. What We Text You About
Messages fall into these categories:
- Account authentication — sign-in and two-factor authentication codes;
- Identity verification — codes confirming it's really you;
- Security alerts — notices of suspicious or important account activity;
- Deadline reminders — upcoming dates in your fights;
- Mailing confirmations — confirmation when a letter you purchased mailing for is sent;
- Letter status updates — delivery and tracking status;
- Important service notices — changes or issues that affect your use of the service;
- Critical account notifications — anything urgent about your account.
That's the complete list. No marketing, no third-party offers, ever.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your account activity, the features you've enabled, and the actions you request. If you have no active fights and two-factor authentication off, you may receive no texts at all.
4. How to Stop (Opt Out)
Reply STOP to any message. We also recognize END, QUIT, CANCEL, and UNSUBSCRIBE.
- Reminder and status texts stop immediately when you opt out.
- Security codes work differently. Two-factor authentication codes are operational messages tied to a security feature you enabled — they exist to protect your account, not to market to you. To stop receiving them, turn off two-factor authentication in Settings first, so you don't lock yourself out of your account. If you reply STOP while two-factor authentication is still on, we'll stop all other texts and prompt you in-app to choose a different verification method.
You can also manage all SMS preferences in Settings at any time.
5. How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any message, email support@beatbullies.com, or contact support through the Settings page in the app.
6. Eligibility
SMS services are intended only for U.S. residents who are 18 or older, using a mobile number on a supported U.S. carrier. You confirm you are the subscriber or customary user of the number you provide.
7. Your Number — Keep It Current
You are responsible for the accuracy of the number on your account. Keep it current in Settings, remove numbers you no longer use, and notify us promptly if your number changes. BeatBullies is not responsible for messages delivered to a reassigned or outdated number that you provided. This matters: if you give up a number and don't update Settings, security codes could go to whoever gets that number next.
8. Charges
Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan — those charges come from your carrier, not us. BeatBullies does not charge separately for text messages unless expressly disclosed at the time you enable a feature.
9. Delivery — What We Can't Control
Message delivery depends on your wireless carrier, network availability, your device, and other factors outside BeatBullies' control. Delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Participation may vary by carrier, and not all carriers support all messaging features.
Because delivery isn't guaranteed, don't rely on SMS as your only way of tracking deadlines — your deadlines are always visible in the app, and email notices are available in Settings.
10. Changes, Suspension, and Discontinuation
We may change the phone number or short code we text from, the messaging platform we use, or the message categories above, with notice where required. We may also suspend, modify, or discontinue SMS services at any time without affecting the rest of the service — everything SMS does is also available in the app.
11. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeatBullies is not responsible for: delayed or failed message delivery; messages deleted by you, your device, or your carrier; carrier or network outages; device issues; or messages sent to an incorrect or outdated number you provided. The disclaimers and limitations in our Terms of Use also apply to SMS services.
12. Accessibility
If you can't receive text messages, contact support@beatbullies.com — we'll help you set up an alternative account verification method where available. SMS is never the only way to secure your account or use the service.
13. Privacy
Your use of SMS services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect your information — including your phone number. Short version: we use your number only to send you the messages described above, and we don't sell it or share it for marketing.
14. These Terms and Your Other Agreements
These SMS Terms are part of your agreement with BeatBullies and supplement our Terms of Use. If these SMS Terms conflict with the Terms of Use on an SMS-specific matter, these SMS Terms control for that matter.
