Editorial standards
The Corner Post is the consumer-protection news desk of BeatBullies, published by Educated Guess Ventures, LLC. This page describes how our posts are made and the rules every post follows.
How posts are made
Every Corner Post article is written by a person, from primary sources, and reviewed and approved by our founder before it is published. We read the agency release, the court filing, or the Federal Register document — not just coverage of it.
Sourcing rules
- Official sources first. Government agencies, courts, and official publications are our primary sources; each post's sources are listed in its footer, official sources marked and listed first.
- Every number is attributed and dated. Each fact carries who said it, where, and as of when.
- Allegations are labeled as allegations. A claim about a named company or person from litigation or enforcement is framed as an allegation unless it is a final court judgment or the party's own public admission.
- No camps. We do not adopt an industry side's framing. We cover the runaround, not villains.
- Our own words. We summarize sources in our own words and link to them; we do not republish others' text.
What we never publish
- Legal advice, or advice about a specific reader's situation. Posts are educational.
- Predictions about the outcome of anyone's dispute or case.
- Clickbait. Headlines state what happened.
Corrections
When we get something wrong or a story develops, we correct or update the existing article at the same address, with a dated note on the page. We do not quietly rewrite history.
Freshness
Every post shows an "as of" date. Developing stories are updated in place rather than fragmented across near-duplicate posts.
